Gilbert Percy Ashe was born in Quebec and enlisted in the Northwest Mounted Police, achieving rank of Captain. He lived for a time in Lethbridge AB, and is on the 1891 Canadian Census, page 90. On page 91 with her parents and siblings is his future bride, Ella Victoria Arnald, daughter of William Godfrey Arnald & Malissa Clark of Essex County, Ontario. Ella's grandfather was Henry Gray Arnald and her grandmother Harriet Westcott. The Arnalds came to Canada circa early 1930's. Gilbert Percy Ashe and his wife Ella had one son Edward Percy Ashe. Both Gilbert & Ella died in British Columbia.

Old Time Rancher Dies Near Victoria
Percy Ashe Was Also Member of the Mounted Police - Was Seventy Years of Age.
Glibert Percy Ashe, an early member of the Mounted Police, and later a horse rancher on the St. Mary's River and a cattle rancher on the Milk River, died last Thursday at Albert Head, near Victoria, B.C.
Mr. Ashe was an old timer of Lethbridge district, though he had been living near the B.C. capital for the last twenty years. He was seventy years of age and his wife, a Miss Arnold, daughter of an old time Southern Alberta rancher, and one son survive. He is also survived by four sisters, Mrs Arthur Scott and Mrs John Wells, Quebec City; Mrs Ramsay Montizambert, Toronto, and two brothers, F. W. Ashe, London, England, and H. B. Ashe, Georgia.
F. W. Ashe, the brother, held positions with the old Union Bank of Canada, being London (Eng.) manager for some time.

To mark the sixtieth anniversary of the Church, in 1933, Memorial Windows replaced the plain glass panes. One of them was donated by Mrs Ella Ashe, of Albert Head, in memory of her husband, Gilbert Percy Ashe.
