1192 Reaches agreement with Saladin allowing Christians to make pilgrimages to Jerusalem.
1192 Captured by the Duke of Austria who hands him over to Henry VI of Germany
1194 Ransom of 100,000 marks paid to Henry VI for him. Richard released & returned to England.
1199 Mortally wounded at Chalus, France,
Buried at Fontevraud Abbey
