bullet  General Notes:

Miss Elizabeth Ashe, reputed illegitimate daughter of William Windham Ashe, sub-governor to the Duke of Cumberland, and Princess Amelia Sophia Eleanor, is the subject of considerable research, the results of which can be found in a Research Paper at:

Elizabeth married twice:
(1) with Edward Wortley Montagu, who was still legally married, so it was a bigamous relationship on his part, with whom she had one son:
Extract from "The Register of Baptisms and Marriages at St. George's Chapel, May Fair" by George J. Armytage (1889):
1751, July 21 -- Edward Wortley Montagu & Elizabeth Ashe, of St. Martin's in the Fields.

(2) with Captain Robert Faulknor, R.N., in November 1761, with whom she had five children, with at least two sons and one daughter surviving, but the most famous was Captain Robert Faulknor, named after hs father, and, like his father, becoming a Captain in the Royal Navy.

Elizabeth married Edward Wortley MONTAGU, son of Sir Edward Wortley MONTAGU and Lady Mary PIERREPONT, on 21 Jul 1751 in St. George's Chapel, May Fair. (Edward Wortley MONTAGU was born on 16 May 1713 in London, England and died on 29 Apr 1776.)

Elizabeth next married Captain Robert FAULKNOR R.N. in Nov 1761. (Captain Robert FAULKNOR R.N. was born in 1726 and died on 9 May 1769 in Family Vault, Gosport.)
